the rains, water, and wind are going to scour the east coast of Florida, maybe southern Georgia as well. It's still too early to tell, but if I lived anywhere along the extreme southern east coast, I'd have the car's tank filled and a suitcase packed. Irma is going to raise some hell.

Could it be because of NOAA's continued lack of funding?

Where ever she hits it will cause billions in damage, whether or not she turns right or continues into the Gulf. We can not take much more and the government along with the insurance companies must do what is nessecary to curb the global warmer, this includes making the "Energy" companies/Gas & Oil companies get alternative energies out immediately. They have been dicking around for 20 years and have not introduced one thing.

Time for them to lose all tax breaks and their welfare unless they get an alternative out.

and let the free market take care of it. Energy companies know what to do. (jack up gas prices)

Florida gets flooding just from rising sea levels and porous rock. Here's Miami last month when they got between 4-7 inches of rain https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/08/02/the-miami-area-endured-an-absurd-flooding-event-tuesday-afternoon/?utm_term=.5fd3b96bccc3

Irma's going to give them a hell of a lot more than they can handle.
