A 19-year veteran of the Seattle Police Department has been relieved of duty after fellow officers reported he engaged in unprofessional conduct and used excessive force while responding to a disturbance Thursday night in South Seattle, according to police.
The incident happened while officers from the South Precinct were investigating a reported drive-by shooting involving a pellet gun in the 3700 block of South Othello Street around 8:40 p.m. Thursday, Seattle police said.
Seattle police said the officer, while responding to the call, allowed himself to be baited into unprofessional conduct and excessive force. The extent of the force was not immediately described by police, and an incident report released by police provides few details.
However, a video of the incident obtained by KOMO-TV reportedly shows a heated argument that involved an officer shoving a man, the station is reporting. The man and a nearby crowd then demand to know why he was pushed, and the man appears to spit in the officer's face, KOMO-TV is reporting.

(6,045 posts)Just like 99.9999999999% of all cops caught beating people or tazing children or using racist language, etc., they RESIGN they don't get fired...Because getting fired means they are done as a cop. Instead they resign their Chief writes them a letter of recommendation & they get hired on the county or city over! Law enforcement agencies simply trade cops who get in trouble allowing the trouble makers to remain in contact with the public!!
