Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC just broke down in tears talking about the

servicemen who were slain in Niger. She made it through her script, tho and was able to finish the segment.

I don't blame her. She showed compassion and deep sorrow and is all too human.

Hang in there, Stephanie...

She does her job well. She's very incisive and intelligent, a real asset to MSBC. I hope Mika saw this...

Not that Mika isn't. I just don't want one woman in the industry criticizing another for being "too emotional" on the air...

After all, Mika's all about supporting other women in their careers. In fact, Kasie Hunt thanked Mika personally on air for fighting to get Kasie her own show (KasieDC).

One of the smartest well versed people in the Business.

She does her homework and gives us facts not some fluffy mealy mouth answers.

I don't think it's professional for a news anchor to break down on air. I watch MSNBC throughout the day and I have seen her get weepy a number of times since she's been on MSNBC. I can't think of another anchor that has that much difficulty holding their emotions in check while presenting a news story.

I think of her as being sharp, smart and no-nonsense, so I clearly have seen the other side of her and not the weepy side.

I don't imagine there's a story written every time she cries on camera but google pops up with several headlines:
- MSNBC’s Ruhle Begins to Cry During Segment on Lane Graves, the Boy Killed in Disney by Gator
- MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle Breaks Down On Air While Talking About Syria Chemical Attack
- Stephanie Ruhle Gets Choked Up Talking to Mother Unable to Reach Son in Puerto Rico

There was even a period of time when MSNBC used a clip of her breaking up over Mary Tyler Moore's passing as a promo.

stories. I can see how she would be terribly upset by these stories...some people have less ability to hold back tears than others.

I can see your point, tho. However, maybe she thinks it's about time the people who deliver the stories, care about what happens to these people.

And he's the best newsman I can think of. Walter Cronkite came to his defense, said "it's okay to cry." So she is in excellent company...

These are extreme times, as 9/11 was extreme. So many of us are feeling desolate with this so-called president and the prospect of being stuck with him at least 3 more years is unbearable and frightening.

On the Letterman show, Dan Rather was a guest on entertainment show not anchoring a news show. I see that as a significant difference. And, when they came out of the break, the first thing Rather said was, "First of all David I want to apologize ... you know I'm a pro ... I get paid not to let it show and I apologize for that". I agree with his sense of what being a pro means.

She's also very smart and well informed - and is terrific at calling out Trump!
