Every single cell in this toon was hand drawn. This entire movie, if I recall, someone can correct me, was the first film ever recorded in stereophonic sound, and the theaters that showed it in 1940, had to be specially equipped in order to show it. The film, Fantasia, was financed by Disney with the profits from Snow White, and Pinocchio, and was not financially successful in the beginning. Fantasia, still is enjoyable to watch today, even though it was made 77 years ago. Walt Disney politically was a true as**ole, as many know. But artistically, he was a genius. He was told that his film "Snow White" would bankrupt his company, and no one would sit through a 83 minute cartoon. It did the opposite. Fantasia was made with some of the profits from Snow White... Enjoy

Disney used to run "Bald Mountain" every year on Halloween. I loved watching it as a kid and being scared as hell. But for me, Fantasia doesn't get any better than dancing hippos and crocodiles.

Disney used Bela Lugosi as the model for Chernabog, something that is pretty obvious in the body language and gestures.
