The movie "42" is on netflix
The movie is about Jackie Robinson. He has always been one of my heroes. When I was a little girl growing up on Long Island, he visited our school and I got to shake his hand. I felt some trepidation because not only was he famous, he was black. Growing up in an all white neighborhood, I had never been that close to a black man before. I can still remember his voice and how reassured I felt in his presence. He definitely made a good impression on me. I became a loyal Brooklyn Dodgers fan and he was my favorite player!
