12/27/11: Thom Hartmann attacks Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) for support Paul Ryan's Medicare agenda

This commentary from the Dec. 27, 2011 Thom Hartmann Program includes clips from David Asman's interview of Hartmann from Fox Business Network's Power and Money on Dec. 13, 2011.

Also, The Washington Post published this article for Monday's newspaper, "Liberal Wyden's partnership with Ryan becomes a GOP talking point":

Senator Ron Wyden, a lifelong liberal Democrat from Oregon, has emerged as a key Republican talking point in the 2012 presidential election.

In his proud pursuit of creative, if politically implausible, policy initiatives, Wyden has in the past teamed up with the likes of Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the newly anointed Republican vice presidential candidate. Their collaboration on a Medicare reform proposal helped cement Wyden’s reputation as a “King of Policy Wonks,” as he is sometimes dismissively referred to within his caucus. And it also has given Republicans some cover on the campaign trail.

Also, Wyden does not represent all Democrats, or the Democratic party

he only represents his constituents. As far as I know he speaks only for widen

When Lieberman or bayh, Lincoln, or any of the Nelson's support republican policies, they are speaking for themselves, not progressives or the whole Democratic party

I am not surprised this is coming from the Washington post.

By going to the dark-side to kill Medicare, Wyden allows the RepubliCON to say that Democrats support the killing of Medicare too. I know Wyden claims that is a misrepresentation but nonetheless, the RepubliCONS are using him.

I wonder how much money he got for doing it?
