When a person firmly believes that the earth was created in 7 days, one of which was required to rest from such a arduous feat, you are as nutty as they are if you can actually believe that you rationalize with them. These people are so blinded by the propaganda that they have feasted on for the entire lives, that it is impossible for them to accept any objective truth. This extends to the entire scientific world of facts ranging from evolution to climate change.

Like evangelical Christianity. It creates a whole class of voters that are primed to believe ANYTHING. Add to that their hurt feelings built up over the decades of all the comedian acts, movie scripts, TV series mocking their cult worship. Like Reverend Lovejoy from the Simpsons, “Oh just about everything is a sin. Have you ever sat down and read this thing? Technically we’re not allowed to go to the bathroom.”

And this is finally their time to get back! Well actually that other great Christian President Dubya was the first in a long while, but Trump is just crazy enough to give them everything they want if they just forget everything he as done, or said, or said he's done. That's it. God works in mysterious ways.
