Last edited Sun Mar 11, 2018, 03:50 AM - Edit history (2)

Becca K. (Cecily Strong) is shocked to learn Robert Mueller (Kate McKinnon) can't commit to charging President Donald Trump with collusion.

This Is U.S.

NBC presents This Is U.S., the real-life drama happening in our government every day, starring Ben Carson (Sterling K. Brown), Sarah Hucakbee Sanders (Aidy Bryant), Stormy Daniels (Cecily Strong), Jared Kushner (Pete Davidson) and Kellyanne Conway (Kate McKinnon).

2. I completely agree, it was very disappointing

I figured out it was supposed to be Robert Mueller, but I could not figure out who the Cecily Strong character was supposed to be. I'm guessing it was just supposed to be a generic character from a "reality show" that I've never seen...

5. My first thought was that it was supposed to be Stormy Daniels, since that's the current news

But she's blonde, and it obviously wasn't Melania, so I just waited to figure it out. I never did until I read the description for the video. That's one reason for the post. I guess Alec Baldwin is off this week.

6. Pretty sure the 'contestant' was meant to represent 'America' ...

Agree it was pretty bad ... and I have a hard time EVER hating on Kate McKinnon ...

7. Oh! That does make sense, thanks!

And I agree that Kate McKinnon is brilliant in whatever she does - she can impersonate anyone of any age or gender and I knew that was Mueller - but I don't think the material was up to her usual talents.

11. That does make more sense, but it wasn't readily apparent.

I kept thinking she was Hope Hicks.

Agree about Kate McKinnon. I always love her! But the writing sucked. Playing around with our worst fears was just NOT funny to me.

8. I thought she was a contestant on "the bachelor"

yeah it wasn't very funny . It was more about our fears.

9. That's what the description said and that made sense to me

I've never seen it - I'm not a fan of "reality" shows - so I figured that's why I didn't get it...

12. I don't watch The Bachelor, or any other reality show for that matter, but

I actually thought it was kind of funny. I am not taking the doom and gloom Mueller part too seriously, I think it was just done that way for comic effect.

Anyway, thanks for posting!

13. I think my main reaction to it was confusion

I tuned in a few seconds into it, so I thought I must have missed something - and I spent most of the sketch trying to figure out who Cecily Strong was supposed to be!

But I figured people (who don't necessarily stay up as late as I do) would be interested, so I posted it anyway...

15. It's about that ridiculous "reality" show The Bachelor
Sun Mar 11, 2018, 11:57 AM
Mar 2018

that had everyone in an uproar this week. Yes. The masses are upset about this "Bachelor" guy renigging on a marriage proposal to one of the women on the show and proposing to another one of the women on the show. It's sickening. If we had half of the outrage going towards the past election, we probably would't be in this situation....

...but what it was represented a depressing nightmare for America. Do they know something we don't know?
