2001 is one of my favorite science fiction films and this parody cracks me up. I needed that this morning. You've saved my day, tomhagen!

Recently, there was another post about this film where I noted that this sequence is a major flaw in an otherwise brilliant film. No astronaut would EVER leave their ship without their helmet! It would go against all of their training no matter the intensity of the moment. Of course, Dr. Bowman's exciting reentry into Discovery would not happen without this detail. (In the novel, Arthur C. Clarke changed the scenario; inside the ship, Dr. Bowman realizes HAL has opened the pod bay doors in order to exhaust the ship's oxygen. Dr. Bowman retreats to an emergency airlock where he can don a spacesuit before disabling HAL. It's not as exciting as the film but it's a more realistic scenario.)

Alexa is as dumb as Siri. So much for AI and the technological singularity in my life time. Mention thermonuclear war to Sky Net and it gives you recipes for tangelo and nutmeg waffles.
