10. He does. Look at the young people protesting the Vietnam War. It took YEARS to end that war.

Even then, it wasn't just because of protests & unpopularity. It was the death toll, the awareness that we were losing, that it was a bad war to have started, anyway, the cost, etc.

But one thing is certain: nothing will be done if people don't demand it.

The more they say it, the more it sounds like they're hoping nothing happens.

Fuck 'em.

Every single one of 'em.

With thinking like Tweety's, we'd never have had a black president, or the profound impact of the me too movement, or marriage equality, or a dozen other political successes, because each never succeeded before.

9. Me, too. I have doubts that ARs will be banned & high capacity mags. BUT...

the spending bill has banned bump stocks.

It takes a long time to get something done when it has to do with the Constitution in any way. The young people are angry and maybe idealistic, like most young people. It took the younger generation years to have a serious effect on the Vietnam War. They were instrumental in getting it to be shut down, but that wasn't the only reason.

But we'll see.

11. Voters need to clear Congress of heavily backed NRA political representatives

and senators. The Second Amendment is here to stay. Guns are here to stay. Universal background gun checks for ALL handguns and long guns are a must. Banning AR-15 type guns can and should be done. Bumpstocks should have already been banned in all 50 states; this needs to be done. All respondsible gun owners must be required by law to lock up their guns.

I guarantee you, the NRA, THE GOP, THE senate, the House and yes even Fuckump are shaking in their boots at the fact that you may be seeing in DC alone 800,000 or more young voters, most, (IMO) will vote democrat, or at least you are going to see in a few years these people, who most likely are not against gay marriage, not against women equality, not against DACA, or Not against healthcare for all...... this is going to be a MAJOR turn in this countries history.... You are here to see it. You will tell your grandkids, you saw this happen.

sounds like a dude who doesn't know the tide is turning and there is more and more public support for reform after every shooting. And there are a lot of shootings. We're going to win this one

Here in DC there were voter registration folks on every corner of every block. It gives me hope. Between speeches there would be chants of vote them out.

Less than a month after the Parkland shootings, MSD high school students rode to Tallahassee to make their case something should change in Florida gun laws. The students got a first hand lesson in shitty politics, but they publicly shamed those state officials in social media and on TV interviews.

Soon after that, the legislature passed new gun laws raising min age for people to
Purchase AR-15’s and similar semiauto weapons. There were other provisions as well.

The governor signed it into law. In a VERY NRA-friendly state. They hadn’t really even warmed up.

Tweety also never would have predicted Obama actually becoming president of his success with ACA. Never look to cable news pundits for direction or enlightenment.

of the NRA's power in this country, that causes both parties to cower in fear of them.

Even when Dems had control of congress/senate they did nothing for fear of endangering seats in purple/red areas.

That's the big cost of winning seats like Conor Lamb's, that we get handcuffed on this and other issues.

The kids have ignited a movement however that could change the game.
