Related: About this forumHuffPo has become the dumping ground for lost freepers. There is an article over there regarding
Ed Schultz telling his "liberal viewers to shut up." I didn't see it or hear it and haven't heard a thing about it here on DU. The comments over there are hideous. HP used to be a great place for many reasons, sort of left-leaning but now that AOL has taken over, it truly has become a dump. Anyone else see or hear about Ed's rant? Evidently he stated that Ricky Santorum was a nice guy, had an organized campaign, etc. and supposedly he received a lot of complaints from the left wherein he told them to shut up!
Much ado about nothing IMO but just thought I would mention it.

(15 posts)things that validate your way of thinking you will become just like the right wingnuts.
Besides, why is Ed Shultz sacred? During the beginning of the occuply movement he blatently came out and vilified them saying they had no message and no right to do what they were doing. He" ranted" on and on about how they were going no where and he was far worse than the right wing commentators. But as the occupy movement took hold he suddenly became a supporter. But not until other high-profile people like Michael Moore came out.
IMHO Ed talks out of his arse a lot of the time and thinks more of himself than he should. He definitely does not like to be criticize.

(1,451 posts)He is a teevee liberal after all, and they are not as free to speak their mind as we are, or RT or Current are. And what's with the suit and tie every night, come on Ed you don't see that many ties these days, at least not on the channels I watch.

(590 posts)I listen to Ed and heard this 'live'. The dynamic can be all over the place sometimes. What he misses is that right wing media and big money cpac's saturate the country and he should not add to the propaganda. If he feels he must have Mr. Vigory on, at least he could contest some of the misinformation or add some reality, i.e. Santorum's financial misappropriations. But as a spokesperson for the Left, he is overall likable and within the comfort zone for the boomer generation. I admire him a lot overall.
As for HP, I'm with you- it's often like troll heaven now. But then, I'm not a fan of the DU change either. It's no fun anymore.
