(7,725 posts)New pipelines criss crossing the country, endangering water aquifers...and the price is going up up up. Prepare for the recession (really minor depressions) bc, the gas prices signal it. The food prices from the last recession never went down. Just how far do commercial interests think Americans can stretch a dollar? Here we go again.

Hope all the idiots who voted for him thinking they were gonna benefit get the connection.
Too bad the rest of us have to suffer.

(13,485 posts)Goes any bonus or tax cut you got. It will go to paying higher gas prices. Seems to me prices have gradually gone up under Trump.

(16,296 posts)Oil/energy wants more profits and lobby for them and the powers-to-be and the powers-that-are want more squeezed out of the middle class.
But how? Can't just raise prices, the screams of outrage and political fall-out to much to risk.
What to do? What to do?
Hey, give everyone in U.S. a bonus or tax cut - makes the politicians look good . The crumbs are there for them to sop up.
But let's raise the prices on gas/energy and take those few dollars out of their pockets and put it into ours.
Aren't they clever little devils.

(4,066 posts)Of course it's at a high. They make more money that way. But then, of course, they'll say that it's going to spike to $6/gal under Obama and it hit new lows.

(11,901 posts)I would be careful about blaming all this on Trump.
It was over $4 a gallon here in 2014. I was driving 100 plus miles a day to go to work and was spending $500 a month back then.
