Related: About this forumLate Memorial Day posting - And the Band Played Waltzing Mitalda
?t=396I try to listen to this song every Memorial Day - It seems to encapsulate patriotism, lost youth, heroism, futility of war, and the honor that brave men and women have in answering the call.
Sorry for the late posting - problems galore

and made me think of family members and friends who gave their lives for their country. I will make this a part of my Memorial tradition from now on.

I didn't know else did it before your post, packman. This should be the official anthem for Memorial day. I think it were put up to a vote by everyone, it would win hands down. This song should be studied in school. Good on you!!!

Got through about 15 banjo notes and I just couldn't do it anymore. I live in a banjo free zone.
