The really outrageous comment was not "legitimate rape". Honestly, we all know what he meant to say there. What he meant was there are times when rape is claimed when no rape actually occurred. He said it badly, and there is no point in making that distinction in the first place, but that much is understandable.

The part that is not understandable, yet is completely ignored in all of this discussion, is that Akin believes that women can somehow will themselves to not get pregnant in the case of rape. That is way beyond outlandish. It is frightening in its sheer stupidity. It would be unbelievably stupid for anybody to say this, but a person running for the Senate of the United States? That was not a misstatement. It was the product of a broken, twisted, defective, sick mind.

And what led to that point? It is the the idea that these monsters don't want to have any human compassion for a rape victim. Their insanity tells them it is morally right to force a rape victim to go through the additional hell of having to carry this child and then be responsible for the child's care for a lifetime.

But if we simply declare that a woman has these special superpowers, then there is no need to have any exception for rape because, you know, the woman won't get pregnant, if it was a "legitimate rape".

These are truly sick bastards. And it not just Akin. He is just the one who was stupid enough to say it out loud. Every one of these anti-choicers is in that same boat.

article about a doctor that gave this congressman wrong information. It is really funny. One doctor said to the other he bet he could get this congressman to believe that women can prevent getting preggie when she is forced like ducks have that ability. I died laughing. Go over and take a look. The doctor has a clown nose.
