Lynzy Lab performs "A Scary Time"

Trump: "It is a very scary time for young men in America".

A young woman in the US wrote a song in response to that statement. It very accurately conveys the experience of girls and women in our world. Not surprisingly it went viral, and she was invited to perform the song on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
Her lyrics are right on target.

Many DUers did as well. This one, however, made me cry....the little girls bouncing out on stage slayed me. I didn't realize until recently how I change my behaviors based on who is around me, where I am, were I go and when. That isn't living...it's reacting. It isn't right and it pisses me off.

I listened to it several times. She is very talented. Glad to see she is getting exposure.

Then that's something to figure out and change. I have a feeling this year has altered the course of things for many women. And in a permanent way. I know it certainly has for me.

I saw her first video too and really liked it. And I really like what the Kimmel people did by adding the community around her, especially the girls. It set what she is saying into a much broader framework, so it's not just one person's voice.

I couldn't make out a few of the words in the tv performance. But it was still great!

I love that song. It captures that "it's tough being a dude" meme perfectly.

I was hoping someone would get it posted here - I've been at work all day - thank you so much for doing it!

I saw her original instagram video on DU and loved it. But it was even cooler to see her on national TV - and when all the other women and girls started filling up the stage around her, I was absolutely awestruck!

I grew up in a female dominated house.

I have two wonderful daughters and a loving wife.

And still, until I listened to this song, it just didn't really hit me.

I don't have a clue what my wife and my daughters have to endure.

Never even crossed my mind.

Thank you, Lynzy for opening up my eyes and my consciousness.
