Even a stockholm syndrome of those rendered so powerless to effect ecological sustenance for future generations, I believe in some ways explains Trumpism. "The world is going to hell in a handbasket anyway, might as well let the rich and powerful have what they want.", approximation of the attitude I encounter in both the Trumpers and the "I don't do politics" non-voters.
Sometimes I feel like one of the marching hoard of workers in "Metropolis", enslaved to my duties of the day, frustrated, locked into servitude of those who could not care less whether future generations have even a chance against their destructive acts.
I give what little I can to Greenpeace and other organizations that fight the corporate greed monster.
But often it feels like such are just SJW acts to be ridiculed by the powerful.
