First of all, she's clearly a right-winger. All but one video and example of people lying are examples of Democrats. She threw in Nixon.

Second, what she says does not at all agree with actual researchers in neuroscience say about lying. The whole looking left vs. right thing has long been debunked.

If you want a video that is good and accurate, watch this lady instead:

I thought the presentations was unbiased and professional...the OP video?...she was selling a consultancy and a book...and was very obvious about it.

When I watched the Meyer video and saw that every example of a liar was a video of a Democrat, except Nixon, I knew there was a problem with this woman's credibility. The talk she gave was far before Trump was even running so I didn't ding her for not including him. She may be a certified fraud examiner but all that means is she passed the test. It doesn't mean she's good at it or has the necessary skills in human interaction. Watching her video makes me doubt she does. She uses all the typical examples everyone is supposed to know. Nothing new and original like the CIA person.

Much of what Pamela Meyer said is right on the money. She made a number of points that are irrefutable: Excessive information (oversharing), eyes not matching the rest of the facial expressions, "dead" facial/flat affect (she called it something else), inconsistent progression, too much minutia, overuse of a phrase, lower voice modulation, posture and much more.

I found no basis for the accusation of "right-winger" in her examples. She used Cheney's curled snarl to perfection when she spoke of contempt. I use that one frequently to demonstrate that "air of superiority" because everyone can relate to that sneer of his.

Another excellent source of lie detection/deception can be found in Paul Ekman's writings about micro-expressions. This is what she was referring to when she mentioned "Lie to Me," a television show based on Ekman's work.

I will watch the video you have posted, but I will continue to require students to read Pamela Meyer's "Liespotting."
