1. I've been reading his book, The Fifth Risk, and it's both fascinating

and absolutely terrifying what Trump has done to these essential government agencies.

2. Lewis is a great writer.

"The Big Sort: Inside the Doomsday Machine" is the kind of book you just can't put down. Written from the perspective of the very few winners (5 or 6 people) that saw the sub prime mortgage crash coming. A fascinating piece of work.

He quoted Tolstoy for the book's epigraph: “The most difficult subjects can be explained to the most slow-witted man if he has not formed any idea of them already; but the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent man if he is firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of doubt, what is laid before him.”

3. Yes, the Big Short was a very clear and very interesting explanation

of an extremely complicated situation. Lewis really is an excellent writer.
