1. Yep. I think so. There are a lot of people to blame.

Not just Collins. After all, she's a Republican Senator. She is under McConnell's control, to some extent. That vote was so important that there is no doubt in my mind that he pulled out the guns: Any Senator not voting to confirm might as well bend over and kiss his A*s goodbye in the Senate. Only those leaving, anyway, would have voted not to confirm. But in the end, even Flake, who was leaving the Senate, even voted to confirm. After all, Kavanaugh was a died in the wool ultra-conservative who would protect the very wealthy in different ways.

But there are others to blame. Jill Stein, Susan Sarandon, those who voted for Stein or third parties, those who didn't vote without a darn good excuse.
