Related: About this forumThe bar on wheels keeping French villages alive
As a result of rural decline, most French villages no longer have a bar or café.
But in the Cher department of central France, one man is fighting back with a novel idea: a bistro on wheels.

Seems a good idea. You might not get somewhere to meet every night, but it's still something to be the centre of a village.

OP
It's sad to picture a French village without a cafe. That used to be the center of town life.

Here's a smile inducing story that appears after the bar story. Toujours Paris !

Still, it's sad to see that all the rural cafes and shops have disappeared. What do these people do for socialization when the bar on wheels isn't in town?

town. That said, they have run it successfully, finding what works best for their area. Within their business, it is a Cafe/Bar/Snacks/Newsagent/Tobacconist/Bookmaker (the State betting agency). Long hours but they have done a great job. They're looking to sell now, and retire, but at least anyone buying it will be taking over a viable business.
