I think many of us will understand it better once it's actually written and formally introduced. George II Mar 2019 #3

There was nothing said about the Green new deal
that offered any insight about what is in it ....
I felt gamed.

Of course I have always been for renewable energy
and am jealous of Iowa and all its windmills. And solar
energy has to be the future.

It offered insight into the reasons you (the royal you) don't have that insight. However, the article I linked to gives some of that insight you seek.

You can predict the reaction from some. The point, obviously, is that the "Green New Deal" isn't about a specific set of policies, at least not initially, but rather a massive shift in public perception and the political will to do what needs to be done to salvage the future for our children and the other inhabitants of the Earth who lack the means to make their voices heard.

AOC has made the mistake of actually trying to push the conversation forward, as opposed to letting it languish in a committee while nothing gets done and we slip closer to the cliff's edge. Clearly, this means that it is incumbent upon her to solve the greatest global crisis to face the human race and save untold species...even civilization itself...from extinction. Anything less only proves that she and those like her are just seeking the spotlight and need to stew for a good twenty years or so until it's "their turn". We have all the time in the world, right? What's the rush?

Good on you for trying, though.
