Thanks for taking the time to post this. I was able to watch about half last night and I'm looking forward to watching the rest today.

She's inspiring, brave, impassioned and informed--someone who can get the cynical or hopeless to reengage with politics.

She reminds me so much of the attitude that we used to have before Reagan and the politics of racism, resentment, fear, and reward the rich took over. We used to have high ambitions like hers—and the confidence to reach for them. John Kennedy’s land on the moon program would go nowhere in today’s government wreckage. Today’s Reoublicans (and some Democrats) would just say let the Russians have the moon and all the technological advances that came with the effort. It’s too expensive and we’re happy in our little gated cocoons of wealth and privilege.

AOC calls on us to be ambitious in a smart way again. She’s calling for workers to be a part of the national conversation again, and that conversation is past due. Her comment about caring more for the jobs of the fossil fuel industry workers in a transition to alternative energy than maintaining the profits of the fossil fuel industry itself was spot on. Many of the jobs of the future are not in fossil fuel but in alternative energy and technology. Imagine what we could accomplish if the focus and research into solar energy storage were on a par with the research and technology it took to get to the moon.

AOC gives me hope—something I haven’t had since 2016.
