Will Venezuela Be Trump's Re-Election War?

Venezuela could be the target of Trump's re-election campaign. Trump believes that he can get reelected if he has a war and the coup attempt in Venezuela could be a big part of his campaign.

Greg Palast, investigative journalist and filmmaker joins the Thom Hartmann program to explore who is behind the coup in Venezuela. Why opposition leader Juan Guaido has not be able to oust democratically elected President Nicolas Maduro and more.

Do you think Venezuela will be able to resist Dona;d Trump's war plans like they did his coup?

I am really fed up of the twists people want to give the situation in Venezuela and the possible USA military assistance, if Thom Hartmann gets out of his office and takes a trip to Venezuela he will understand what is going on there. Even if the USA intervenes, it won't help the buffoon, if the Democratic leaders do their work as they are supposed to, the buffoon will not last until the 2020 elections.

Stop using Venezuela as a political prop, the people there are dying, they need help, the kleptocracy there has ruined the country. So far today, more than 80 peaceful protesters were killed by the Cuban "Colectivos". I wish I could get invited to Thom Hartmann's show to shut him up once and for all about his rejection to the intervention in Venezuela. Venezuelans would say that Thom Hartman is looking for the fifth leg of the cat when cats only have four.

The military that supports Maduro, which is a lot of Cuban criminals rammed through peaceful protesters, if anyone here was shocked about what happened in Charlottesville they should be shocked with this too. Who here was shocked with what happened in "Tiananmen Square" when the tank run over a peaceful protester? OK then, stop the politicization of a tragedy that has taken over an entire country, and God forbid Putin gets hold of Venezuela, in a couple of years Thom Hartmann will be asking "why didn't the USA intervene when they had the chance?"

It gets to a point where rational is lost and fanatism takes over. I despise the orange buffoon, I don't like Bolton, but if they do something right I will not try to look for the fifth leg of the cat, I will recognize it and appreciate it. We cannot fall into fanatics, and Thom Hartmann has become one.

doesn't want to mention or doesn't know...take your pick.

"democratically elected President Nicolas Maduro" NO, NOT TRUE...It is a well known fact that Maduro cheated his way to the presidency. The first time he took the presidency was because Chavez appointed him from his death bed because Cuba had ordered him to do so.

Maduro was born in Colombia which makes him an illegitimate president, he is not a Venezuelan.

Raise you hands, that includes Pallast and Hartmann, if you know who Tibisay Lucena is? Ok for those who did not lift your hands...She controlled the CNE (Consejo Nacional Electoral), she manipulated the votes to give them to Maduro, they were so incompetent at it that it became obvious the cheating they had done. Henrique Capriles won that election, why he didn't dispute it no one knows, but rumors are that he was threatened to death.

So, for Pallast to claim that Maduro was "democratically elected" shows either his ignorance of the matter, I would hate to think that he has been bought, or the fact that he has become a fanatic unable to have objective opinions.

Shame with Hartmann and Pallast.
