CBS censored/cut Pete Seeger's first performance of Waist Deep in the Big Muddy on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1967, and that really, really pissed Tommy off. A battle was fought in the press and Tommy prevailed; Pete performed it in 1968.
