survived the many national crises I've lived through without political humor. I think the earliest political humor I can remember was back when I was about ten. (I grew up in the northern colonial states, politics used to be part of the ABCs along with all the other elementary lessons one learns as a child. Civics lessons started in the first grade.) So I have learned to lean heavily upon the blessing of knowing others have the same views and can see some irony or humor in them.

I can only stand so much of the news these days - have felt that way since that painful campaign - so I change the channel as soon as I can. I depend on the late night guys to put things in perspective and the humor allows me to sleep nights.

I can barely remember what it was like to have a normal functioning government led by a POTUS who was the smartest guy in any room and was working for the American people...
