(37,549 posts)later in January is the result of the admin judge consolidating cases--some lawyers now want severance, because Orly Taitz is batshit insane, and they don't want tot have to be in court with her.
He's not going to be removed from the ballot, either. These assholes couldn't litigate their way out of a paper bag.

(62,444 posts)People are allowed to file ballot challenges.
This one is not going to get very far. Mainly, because it is brought on untenable premises.

(2,830 posts)Nothing to see here but a bunch of rednecks with a racist axe to grind.
This has nothing to do with the Constitution and everything to do with the racism that still permeates our culture.
How many other Presidents have been forced to show even one birth document, let alone two?

(5,390 posts)We just write him in. Write in votes are allowed in Georgia as long as they did not lose in a primary.

(7,875 posts)For that matter would Obama win Georgia even if he was on the ballot?
I'm not saying we should just let them get away with this- it would set a bad precedent- but it's not like Georgia is a swing state or anything. Honestly I think this is going to be the model from now on with these clowns. They did it with Clinton with Whitewater, now they're doing it with Obama with the birth certificate, and expect them to find some reason to call for the removal the next Democrat to be elected president.
Of course the really big irony of all this, as I'm always mentioning, is that in 2003 there were Republiclowns who were talking about amending the Constitution so that Arnold Schwartzenegger would be able to run in 2008.

(5,390 posts)But if their nominee is Mit, they will use the write-in to split the Republican vote,
Mit is not the guy to win in Georgia. So who knows a D might actually win, if enough of us actually go to the polls.
Arnie is no longer a favorite so they will go back to their original plan.

(5,390 posts)The problem is not enough who would vote D are registered to vote. In 2008 we spent many weeks registering voters and I was surprised at the number of people not registered. Another thing I found in Georgia was that little or no voting information is mailed to the home. We moved here from California in 2006 and have never been notified when there was a vote. You have to keep yourself informed. In California voter pamphlets were mailed to registered voters with tons of info.... not in Georgia.

(36,974 posts)There have been a total of SEVEN ballot challenges filed so far,
the 'one' in New Hampshire was dismissed in Administrative proceedings
and is being Appealed in the Courts
Here's a LIST of them on this link: PDF: http://tesibria.typepad.com/whats_your_evidence/BIRTHER%20CASE%20LIST.pdf
On the link above TONS of birther court cases are listed on the first 20 pages,
and then starting on page 21 there's a separate list of 2012 ballot challenges.
Enjoy

(36,974 posts)If for some crazy reason a nutty judge rules that Obama can not be on the ballot,
then it seems as if Romney would probably NOT be allowed be on a ballot somewhere too - LOL

(533 posts)I don't think so.
The person/group filing must prove he is not. Let them try...

(53,998 posts)Nothing shows up Republican insanity more than this birther malarkey. I don't think we're in much danger of winning Georgia anyway, but just the fact of these goobers trying this tells every middle of the road voter in the country just how dangerously stupid the Republicans are.
