The colonial powers and Asia was a story of exploitation, and the Opium wars where the west were essentially drug pushers is only one example of this

They've chosen as their government a three-branch system. China wants to do away with that.

Ask them which nation is foreign to them now.

and is given absolute power. America is not there for the Hong Kongers because of drumpf et al. I hope Hong Kongers fight like hell against Xi and his corrupt regime.

The Chinese taught the world in the Vietnam war that the powerful vision of the VietCong could not be stopped by the world's largest military.

The Chinese, having shown that, might just make a compromise rather than let word get out that they kill their own people just for Hong Kong's wealth control.

Other financial centers are watching.
