It's true that you should wear a mask when you're sick, to prevent spreading viruses (by droplet) to other people. And it's also true that wearing a mask won't prevent you from getting coronavirus infections. But coronavirus, like most viruses, has an incubation period, where you're contagious for a few days before you actually know you're sick. The way to stop the spread of viruses during incubation periods is for everyone to wear a mask, whether they feel sick or not.

For that reason, I wouldn't discourage people from wearing masks when they don't feel sick.
