Should we start a list of all the things we are not prepared for as a nation? All because we'd rather blow up villages in Afganistan with $1,000,000 bombs.

My specialty was contingency planning for 20 years. Nothing was learned after Katrina, there were no plans for large scale pandemics, I could (and have) rant on this one for an hour.

The only thing you will see is crowd control. Soon people will get crazy wanting food, medicine. That is where things will truly go bad.

There was a Nightline episode in the early '90's where Ted Koppel moderated a tabletop based on a biological attack in a US city. He was excellent and the responses were truly revealing. Here is a critic of the piece, and in light of the current situation, you can see how idiotic the critics were.
