(48,955 posts)2 decades ago I lived in the region. For almost a year I commuted from East Palo Alto to Tiberon - and drove/saw several of these views daily. Seeing them still, to nearly still is amazing. And given the cause (not the end effect of a pandemic, but the collective shelter/stay-safe-out-home) is inspiring.
In my part of the country - Schools have been down for 1.5 weeks (and now shut til May 1), restaurants/bars etc. shut down a week ago except takeout delivery (for food), and shut down except essential services started today. It has slowed down, some, but not (yet) like this. I have several acres, near woods/creek, tucked away in a rather bustling area (shopping - both essential and nonessential) - I can hear (partially see - til the leaves are out) the thorough-fare. Not at full capacity - but clearly not seriously showed down. While the city (small city - large university - home of Indiana University) is liberal, the state - and surrounding area is not. But we haven't slowed down to this degree (as in the video.)
I don't know if it is still dawning on individuals that this is real and it is here - the ahas that increase compliance - or the influence of the deniars/red state consume the diminishing of the threat Trumper thing.
I hope that across this week (the 'shut down' of the state just started today) I can report that the sounds/traffic on the thorough fare are down to the point of what we see in this amazing video.
Thank you for posting this.

(702 posts)Gotta go with "Lights" from Journey.
Saw them in Eppenheim, Germany...just outside Heidelberg.
They where the new almost unheard of warm up band for Santana.
They blew us completely out of the water....and then we had Carlos...
Oh what a night!!!!!!
