I was in graduate school during the advent of Molecular Biology. I took enough classes in the different disciplines that even now 40+ years later I can still wade through the jargon. I've been using that ability to dig through the scientific literature regarding vaccine development for the SARS virus. There seems to be something going on that he isn't talking about in this interview. Based on what a hobbyist like me can find the technology already exists so why is there all the talk about needed to "develop" the technology.
For one example back in a 2005 issue of the journal Virology I found an article titled "Long-term protection from SARS coronavirus infection conferred by a single immunization with an attenuated VSV-based vaccine." The authors claimed they had made a vaccine that created immunity in mice that lasted 4 months (which is a long time in a mouse's lifetime) and there was no mention of the complications
I will keep digging but something doesn't seem to add up here. Not thinking in terms of conspiracy, more likely a complication that has been unresolvable for at least 15 years and for some reason he's not mentioning.
It's also worth considering that there are other labs around the world not so driven by pure mercenary profit motivation that would have developed an effective and safe vaccine by now if there were not some impediment.
Always interested in the opinions of those who know more than I do on the subject but please cite references so I can continue to learn. Thanks.
