(26,259 posts)I'm going to try making some of the slightly simpler ones I've seen that just call for fabric and elastic. I can probably modify one to accommodate a square of hepa filter.
I have no plans on going anywhere, for probably another 2 weeks but I want to be prepared for when that time comes.

(20,758 posts)Which are not as completely "fitted" as the duckbill style and may not be suitable for hospital use, but will be a BIG help for home use.
Just make the Olson-style mask with a "pocket" that has velcro along one edge, then cut up a HEPA vacuum cleaner to fit in the pocket.
This makes a reusable mask- the outer cloth shell can be sanitized in the laundry and you insert a fresh piece of vacuum bag.
