The Daily Social Distancing Show: Seriously, What Is Obamagate?

The Obama administration did a standard government procedure that happens thousands of times a year. Or as Trump calls it, “Obamagate.”

when Russian tampering and hacking became obvious, following up on leads and finding a lot of them led to Flynn and Manafort. Doing their jobs? How utterly appalling!

Elected officials start doing that, somebody might expect Republicans to work or something.

If I have to drive any distance. I made a rare trip out on Tuesday since I went to the dentist with a tooth issue and listened with a new perspective this time around. The part I listened to was from during his presidency and he talked about all the reading and studying he did before participating in a summit of world leaders, not to mention the superhuman efforts he made to ensure success at the Camp David summit with Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin. And the first fellow Americans he communicated with on returning to Washington were the only two former presidents at the time, Gerald Ford and Richard Nixon. That's the way things used to be since POTUS is a pretty exclusive club. LBJ consulted Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter got help with Congress from Gerald Ford, Carter also did diplomatic work for the George HW Bush State Department and was instrumental in achieving the last successful nuclear treaty with North Korea on behalf of the Clinton administration. How times have changed, and just overnight.

And yet Carter only got positive press for the first two months of his presidency despite his efforts to engage the press. And of course there's Obama, another "smartest guy in any room," yet Trump ignores the current crisis in this country - and the world - to manufacture some imagined scandal about him.
