(38,420 posts)A whole lot will not go to the beach, or go out without a mask. By not wearing one, Trump is enabling the non maskers. In that way, Trump is urging them to defy and get sick. It is that simple. Just another way that Trump is hurting the people in this country.

(658 posts)I live in a small-ish town in the panhandle of Florida. My wife and I generally cook our meals at home, but sometimes we will get take-out or go through a drive-thru.
On Friday evening, I ordered a meal for us on-line from Hungry Howie's. I paid for the meal and we headed into town to pick it up. I walked in to see that not one empolyee was wearing a mask or gloves. I asked the person waiting on me to please cancel my order and refund my purchase. She went to see the manager who stated that my order must not have gone through because he couldn't find it so I assumed I hadn't been charged and left the store.
Saturday morning, the charge posted to my bank account. I called the Hungry Howie's corporate customer service line and explained that I wanted a refund and explained why. I haven't heard back from them yet and no refund has yet been applied to my account.

(905 posts)I did the same thing at a MacDonalds. Usually they are all about cleanliness. Not that day.
My family shares info on restaurants keeping up today's standards.

(38,420 posts).(a).Suppose you are in a terrible rush, and you must get somewhere, so you cross in the middle of a street, and get clipped by a car you didn't see. Not hurt bad, but clipped. Yes, that was very stupid..
.BUT, THIS IS MUCH MORE STUPID........ THERE IS A STORM COMING..With lightening and thunder, and you can see it in the distance, and yes, it is coming your way. Lot's of rain and it was predicted to storm that afternoon..So out you go to play 18 holes of golf,,You know it ain't going to storm, the weather borough doesn't know what it was /is talking about, and those clouds are moving away..I know that.
ALL STUPID IS NOT THE SAME STUPID....those people on the beach are (b) stupid.. , Not (a) stupid.

(14,173 posts)I remember being that young. I had that attitude in a lot of ways. Not about a pandemic obviously, but about other things like dangerous speeding, or rock climbing without ropes, or boating without life jackets, or experimenting with drugs bought off the street. In some ways I don't blame them for feeling invincible. I guess taking home an infection to their grandparents is another question.
But that is why the adult leaders need to step up and be examples. Young people will grab any excuse they can to flaunt any restrictions on their fun. Pointing at the President as his example to not wear a mask is awful leadership.
