Bob Woodward and Jacob Weisberg in 2018, political journalist, 1 hour talk

The scariest part for me was when an audience member emotionally asked Woodward about Trump having the nuclear codes and Woodward brushed her off.

At 42:56

Woman: Since many people think that Trump is a threat to our national security, do you believe that GOP politicians, influential ones like Ryan and McConnell are traitors to our country.

Woodward: No. Look, we have the political system and

Woman: But he has access to the nuclear weapon. That should be taken away from him.

Woodward: Okay, that's your view. I think the remedy is to not use Trump's language about other people. I think you can be critical of people, and this "let's jack up the rhetoric" atmosphere, I think is

Woman: Hasn't he

Woodward: We know what you think

he could or should have, but he did conclude that book by conceding that Trump is a pathological liar. Since this interview is from two years ago, and given what he said to Anderson Cooper last night (he sounds much more alarmed these days), it would be fascinating to know how he would answer that woman today. I'd bet he would take her concerns more seriously.

Fear is actually a really good book, and a lot of damning information is in there that Woodward didn't emphasize when he went on the book tour.

In general, I was disappointed by the interviews he gave after "Fear", but I'm not disappointed by the interviews he's giving now regarding "Rage." I think he gets its.

I am definitely kind of a casual political observer, so I appreciate the insight and history.
