I have to object to the idea of Pfizer not taking money from "anyone". They are a huge money Hoover, and are often monopolistic and extremely unfair in their practices, taking advantage of their lobbying power to profit mightily from our healthcare "system" that amounts to legalized bribery.

Maybe they didn't take part in "Warp Speed", but come on Pfizer, you ain't fooling anybody. Socialism for the rich is alive and well at Pharma companies (having worked for a bunch of them)

FYI a lot of people are tweeting about how Pfizer didn't accept government money for this vaccine. This isn't true. HHS did a $2 billion deal with Pfizer to guarantee a market for the vaccine, making Pfizer's R&D spend viable. Classic public/private partnership.

As a participant in the National Institutes of Health's "All of Us" research program, I received just this morning an invitation to participate in a clinical trial for a COVID-19 preventive vaccine. The invitation didn't say which company's drug would be in the trial, but I declined. I'm unwilling to trust anything that comes out during this administration.
