Yes, indeed... there's a good argument to be made about an ongoing campaign to smear and denigrate the core of the Democratic party, and our party's leadership. Whether we're being smeared with false accusations and insults (ie: "Coastal Elites" or "corporatists" or "corrupt" or "ideologically bankrupt", etc etc etc) it's always divisive and it always weakens the party.

What useful purpose does it serve? It's just another example of how people are oddly willing to do and say things that create an atmosphere of fear and hopelessness and negativity. Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections. Or it ends up being an unwanted "sea-wall" that breaks and diminishes our Blue Wave.

Perfectly stated, NurseJackie

The targeting of our strong leaders & the juvenile mockery & denigration of their accomplishments & the phonyism of it all.

One doesn't have to look to far to know where it comes from.

They should proudly admit their role. Its what they set out to accomplish from day 1.
Why deny it now?

Rep Clyburn speaks the truth & there's only one truth.

Socialism & defund the police. What I found very interesting was that even AOC's district agreed more with Biden than her.

I know we have to recognize that the word socialism is absolutely toxic to millions of Americans, has been for decades and remains so.

Having two nationally prominent Democrats call themselves democratic socialists is just a loser in districts far from their own. All repug opponents have to do is mention their names as radical socialists closely aligned with their specific Democratic opponent in attack ads and it's damaging even if the race is in states thousands of miles away from New York or Vermont.

Progressivism is not the same as socialism and certainly doesn't have the toxic taint in America that socialism does.

The 'defund the police' foolishness undoubtedly cost us votes too.

We have to be smarter, have to fix our marketing.

I have a friend who voted for Trump because he feared Biden would advance socialism. His girlfriend is on SSDI and Medicare.

They'll just say, "you better keep your hands off my SSDI and Medicare."

The word is just too toxic and they've already beaten us in marketing anti-socialism.

The bastard sat on at least 1 million ballots, "lost" by the USPS.

Most mail-in ballots were, of course, Democratic ballots.

And many of those GOP pick-ups were by scanty margins.

...can't be a "lie".

It could be a matter of opinion.

The great comedian Gallagher joked about how he got an "F" on an essay question that asked his opinion.

This isn't much different.
