they *still* manage to take hypocrisy to new staggering heights.

They have no shame, so it just doesn't matter. Never will. The sooner we realize that and stop twisting ourselves in knots trying to understand, the better for us.

It seems there is a thread of evil that runs through humanity that those of us raised in an atmosphere of love and compassion will never comprehend.

I'm certain there were psychopaths in the little country farm town where I was raised but they knew to behave themselves or else be rejected in our community. But, back then they didn't have social media or cable news to spread their poison.

Since then, they have learned how to effectively use and abuse public and social media to their advantage and our complacent public is paying a huge price.
