(2,065 posts)Just like every other defendant. No pardons, just due process of law from a politically independent judiciary. That way, there is no politicizing, no favoritism, and no vindictiveness. But above all, Trump should not be given a broad, blanket pardon; that would only encourage and embolden other would-be Trumps further on down the line. A good argument could be made that a failure to prosecute George W. Bush for his crimes while in office only encouraged and emboldened Trump to step into the political arena and run for president. A pardon might give the nation the illusion of moving on and moving forward over the short term, but sooner or later the karmic boomerang will return to bite us in the butt, and nullify any progress that we thought we had made.
