I worked at the polls. A poll watcher is far from sacred. They are an insult to the hard working poll workers who volunteer so much time making sure elections are honest. And Republicans pay them more than the poll workers! There may be Democratic poll workers. I never saw one in my years of working the polls.

(5,377 posts)So shutup already!
Massive fraud, just massive, everyone knowns that!
Yet Rudi and his tribe of lawyers have trouble putting facts about said fraud in front of a judge?
Trump, your opinion is your delusion, delusions are not facts and no one needs to agree with that just because you are Prez!

(21,421 posts)said that Trump reacted to when Trump said not to talk to the president that way.
More importantly, though, there were some things in Trump's remarks that were disturbing. When asked "Does that mean you won't leave here if the EC votes for Biden," he said, "Of course I would, but..." He went on to say there will be a lot of things happening betwern now and January 20th. That is a lot like what he said about the US ambassador to Ukraine. "She'll be going through some things." Then he said he didn't want to say just yet what those things will be.
Just bluster from a sore loser? Or, he still has some gimmicks up his sleeve that he believes he can pull off? Does he have commitments from Republicans in some states for the electors to give him their votes, like dirt on them to twist their hand to support him?
Keeping in mind that there is nothing he won't try in order to maintain power, nothing too outrageous for him to do, I still wonder if he has a last, secret, blowout move to make that will stun the country and the world. He is like a cornered a wild animal. Besides the ego blow to a person like him, defeat means loss of power, income, assets, and standing, with no place to go and the expectation of criminal charges. He has nothing to lose from going to more extremes than we could imagine a person would go to. His comments at that press conference hint at that.

(8,968 posts)with a lot of Trumps characteristics. My therapist taught me that he was talking about things he hoped were true as if they were. Once I understood that, things started to make sense.
So I read Trumps comment as: (I hope) a lot of things will be happening in the next two weeks.
Its not a fact. Its a wish. As are most of his statements.

(21,421 posts)being like the person you were in a relationship with.
Many years (decades) ago, I got out of a marriage to a man with similar psychotic behavior to Trump. Maybe that's why Trump's threats and actions make me feel anxious. PTSD after all these years.
Prior to the divorce hearing I told my attorney what the ex was like he but told me it was just male ego bluster. At the hearing, the ex tried to intimidate me from testifying so that my attorney threatened him with contempt and jail if he did not stop. After the hearing, on the steps of the courthouse, when the ex realized the divorce would go through, he told me that no matter how long it took, he would kill me. He said that if he couldn't have me, he would make sure no one else could. He owned several guns.
For 20 years afterward he stalked me, even to the point of intruding on my sister's funeral motorcade 15 years after the divorce. (He was removed by cops who were escorting the procession.) He tried to track me down through relatives and former coworkers after I remarried and moved out of state. Fortunately, since they knew the situation, he got no info from them and they called me to warn me what he was doing.
He never did locate us. We narrowed our contact info to just my parents, as a precaution.
The point is that a person obsessed with power and control that is deeply embedded in their identity cannot ever accept the reality of losing. They escalate when threatened with loss. They go to lengths no rational person would even think of. It is when their control is slipping away that they are most dangerous.
In my case, repeated failures to get to me because family and community protected me caused the ex to collapse into depression and to totally decompensate into a haze of drugs, which eventually killed him. But, he did not have the power of a presidency behind him and he did have a fear of legal consequences if caught, so that he tried to plan "accidents." Trump has much more power and faces criminal consequences when he loses power so he has nothing to lose from using any extreme to hold on.

(6,265 posts)a mentally incompetent fool whose own neice, with a Doctorate in psychological studies from Harvard, says he delusional and psychologically unfit for the office then his every move must be questioned. He needs help now because of his implied threat of pulling off something that he feels will grant him that office for the foreseeable future. He's of a mass murderer with, so far, 280,000 souls lost directly because of his narcissistic need to feel those deaths revel in those deaths.
He and Miller probably are still dancing together around the Oval Office. That trump listens to an incredibly evil person like Miller kidnapper of children, 600+ of whom won't ever see their parents again probably, goes to show truly evil people can gain ascendancy to the highest office in our land. I truly hope that the family in the WH still administering to our country will get the justice they deserve, a small room with bars will suffice. The GOP of cowards with their leader McConnell needs some kind of censure moving forward. I am praying for Georgia election for Senate upcoming.
What a nightmare this is. And I'm wide awake. I actually, for the first time in a long time, listened to trump's mind working and I hope people are in place to remove him if he, miller, ivanka and kushner try to take over this country like some tinpot dictator of third world country would do.

(42,862 posts)... and that he STILL got votes after four years of this type of INSANE and DELUSIONAL behavior. Absolutely astounding. I can't get over it. I can't conceive of how it happened. We really do have an IGNORANT and RACIST country, don't we?

(43,123 posts)I am still convinced that these rural county margins are pyramid marketing structures reinforced by historical and contemporary familial, ethnic, religious, business/banking/insurance and cell phone technology. These populations are stable over long periods of time; they never move. Their heyday was perhaps during Prohibition bootlegging, but echoed across the 1970s and the Great Recession - periods when they became more insular when the national economy didn't permit influx and outflow of populations.
It's an idea that's a cultural soup to be sure, but if you're plugged into any part of it, you get all the rest - free! But wait - Bonus Time - there's more! You buy cars, multi-level marketing products from them, go to church with them, and you're plugged in to the gossip. They only have right wing radio - there is no liberal or progressive thought going through their lives. It's a brainwashed cult, just like we thought.

(42,862 posts)There's only one other political celebrity that I can think of with the same kind of cult-like following. I guess we'll always have them... political and religious cult figures. They're the folks that do a LOT of talking and a LOT of shit-stirring, but in the end, they never accomplish much. They can destroy a lot, but they never accomplish anything that benefits our nation or the world.
