As COVID surges; the lame duck golfs and whines

...something else equally troubling. So many opportunities were left to go by in the last 6 months that at this point even if Trump and his administration suddenly became responsive on Covid, its almost too late as the vaccine will start to be implemented. He had the Defense Production Act, so he could have seen to PPE production, ramped up testing and required enforced tracing. Yes, it would have taken a war like level of seriousness and focus, but I do think it was doable with real leadership, although I certainly think there would have been hard pushback from the "liberty above all" crowd. I also think there might have been a couple hundred thousand less dead Americans and many more not having to suffer the still ill defined long term impacts of having had Covid. Sad year and certainly a low point for America.
