1. Really barren

Even without vegetation, there is not much to see. Of course I think they chose that location just because it is so barren, thus safe to land. Dome other reasons too of course.

3. Some of those patches in the dirt almost look like footprints.

But of course they're not footprints, it's another planet. And just that thought, that WOW! this is another planet, just blows me away.
