(2,224 posts)of well educated people who do as well just look at all the politicians, doctors & scientists who are Magats & Qnuts. Many of these people
probably went to an Ivy League school or at least a reputable university. I think the guy in the video had it right when he said "people want to believe in things that bring them comfort even though those things are incorrect as long as what they are told is presented in the right way." I also suspect that these people believe in all of this stuff because they want to be a part of something. They want to be in some sort of fellowship with like minded people and that is part of the reason they are willing to look the other way to facts. I need to check out that Con show.

(423 posts)I would suggest that the promotion of belief in sky-fairies and the illogical beliefs that surround them are the basis for all the inane beliefs without support we see in contemporary society.
