Maddow on tax breaks: it's true! This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by JudyM (a host of the Video & Multimedia forum). We thought - how come we aren't hearing about this? How could it have been implemented so fast if it's tied to new Biden admin? Well, Maddow on her show last night provided at least part of the answer. Anyone else experiencing this?

1. Honestly I wish they do away with all deductions but standard.
And what is taken from paycheck should be used for the government. No ability to change entitlements. Everyone everyone begins at 0 or 1. Then you get married, status change with marriage certificate. Same with children adoption or birth certificate sent to IRS for change. I know someone who is single who uses 10 for their taxes. Sure he pays in April but I don’t think that should be allowed.

2. Something must have changed since I filed in January...
as deductions such as that which I could take in previous years wasn't available for 2020.
