(111,124 posts)Nixon and Reagan and then Dumdum made their deals with the worst devils this country has to offer and now those devils have taken over. He'd be best to save his energy and organizational skill set and use them on forming a new Hamiltonian party.
The devils won't be able to hold things together for too long, infighting is inevitable and will always take over once the old guard and highly principled are gone and it's an open fight for the top of the garbage heap.
Hamiltonian parties in this country have been stable only when they've stayed small, that's their paradox. Once they decide to seek consistent power by welcoming the devils in, they're pretty much done.

Because all the retired ones trying to pretend that the R party used to be a good respectable group arent really relevant to anything except creating a tactical fall back position in case the current direct push for fascism fails
