2. Sinclair Lewis said it even before Sagan in his book "It Can't Happen Here", 1935

And he also explained to us in another book about the greed of the medical industry as well as the effects of a pandemic in "Arrowsmith" , published in 1925.

The problem is that we read, we watch, we listen, but we don't truly understand, we constantly think that "It Can't Happen Here" or that it can't happen to us.

I remember when I went to the theatre to watch "Avatar", after the movie, as I was walking towards my car I heard people making comments about the movie, how hot the blue women were, and how great the effects, but I never heard comments about the message of the movie. I heard the same from friends who also watched the movie, and again never about the message, what the writers were telling us, people just focused on the superficial.
