I think the GOP trumpster republicans are too late....need 6 weeks to be fully vaccinated...It will take another month for the republican minions to decide to take the vaccine...so, you are looking at October for any significant or moderate improvement. The Delta variant is much faster that this....it will be a brutal setting across the red states and in the hot spots....

is passing the danger and cost onto the responsible vaccinated population. Better late than never still. It's a given that Red State populations will follow their anti govt. and anti Democratic Party positions, and this was likely factored into messaging, IDK. Disappointing, but no surprise, this movement has been growing for 30-40 years and is well est. in specific areas. Too many people are easily influenced by extremist rw media, set in their ways and wallowing in ignorance unfortunately. SAMO.

13. Do we know if that 699 per 100,000 is a daily or weekly rate? It isn't clear to me from the

article. Are 699 people getting the shot daily or weekly?

If it is weekly, this does nothing.

If daily, it will help a bit after a few months. Which is sad.

And wow! That graph in the video! It's all young people.

reporting. But you're right, we should know. I'd say (not being a scientist or statistician) that ANY shot rate will get past this virus+variations eventually, and so it's better than what we have now.

Yeah, well, young people -- to be expected by now, right?
Imo, adults should tell other adults that young people need more, not less, adult supervision as they feel their freeedoms. That kind of supervision is a guided kind of forced-capacity building of their judgment and their practice of self discipline around social urges to be in crowds of bodies. By college it's mostly peer pressure.

This whole FDA emergency authorization loophole that means people can't be made to take a pandemic vaccine is the structural problem that we HAVE to get fixed for the next time.

To change this bs, the FDA can compare vaccine outcomes under emergency authorization with outcomes after official authorization, so that next time there are new RNA vaccines, it has a scientific basis for just giving official authorization on the same timeline as the emergency data, so that we have a distribution regimen that gets public acceptance similar to the ones that we've had for polio and measles, etc.
Even if the virus the next time is different. No mater what virus we encounter, we can map its genetic material within 24 hours now.

The testing regimen has to be broader across populations, and faster. It can be done, and scientists know how to do it.

.

We've polluted her atmosphere, dug holes into her belly spreading toxins that kill not only her wildlife, but her sea's ecosystem, the air we breathe, and even the space beyond . . . .

We won't/can't survive unless we change our behaviour drastically.

no?

"Blame the un vaccinated" is not a good answer. A lot of those un vaccinated people have been listening to nothing but republicans and RW media. They are constantly hearing that the vaccine is dangerous and killing people (and their freedumb), and that it's a big gov't plot. Considering how republicans have been for years consistently under funding and demonizing our public school system, is it any wonder those same students grew up to be gullible?
