but most of us said that freedom of the press meant freedom to lie, propagandize and brainwash a huge segment of our society. It’s probably too late now to save the great American experiment.

In my opinion, 'lying' is not protected speech, and corporations are not persons.

is not considered protected free speech under the first amendment then, why is it ok for Focksnooze to spew outright lies to millions of people each and every day? People make life decisions based on what they hear on news outlets. Intentionally lying should not be allowed for any reason.
