This guy just listened to people--preachers and politicians-who were lying to him and he made the mistake of trusting his faith in both instead of in experts he didn't really understand. This wasn't a bad guy. His sin was being too unsophisticated to have a BS detector.
That's the problem, really, people who know what they're talking about use a lot of words ordinary people don't know. It takes a very special person to translate it into terms a reasonably intelligent high school grad can grasp. Translation is not dumbing down, it's a removal of a lot of jargon and demystifying the remaining vocabulary. Only people who understand the basic science as well as Dr. Fauci does are capable of doing this, and I'm afraid there are far too few of them and they're far too busy right now.
So we're left with populations who understand "god will protect you" or "the virus is a Democrrat hoax," but not RNA virus or m-RNA vaccine or how either of them affect the human body. They might as well be listening to Martians.
I have a great deal of sympathy for people being maimed and killed by this virus because they listened to the wrong people. I have zero sympathy for right wing media, who pursued the most callous and cynical disinformation campaign I've ever seen on any subject in order to please their masters and throw the country into chaos under a Democratic president.
And you can bet they were first in line for the vaccine.
