(205,173 posts)Despite Ben Shapiro, it was an exceptionally good show, Malcolm Nance was great, as always, and terrific New Rules!

(63,221 posts)get owned by Malcolm Nance! He's such an obnoxious little punk, you just want to kick him in the teeth. Ugh! How can anyone stand to listen to that guy for more than two minutes?
New Rules was hilarious too! Thanks for posting Rhiannon, haven't seen this in a while, so it was a nice treat!

(205,173 posts)The original panel was supposed to be Ben Shapiro and Tavis Smiley - and I kinda cringed, didn't post the guests until late since I knew how DUers would react to Ben Shapiro. And I'm not sure what happened, but Tavis Smiley was replaced at the last minute with Malcolm Nance - which elicited a completely different reaction. And It was sure warranted, Malcolm Nance was the perfect guest to put Ben Shapiro in his place - he actually got tongue-tied! Malcolm Nance is always good and always a favorite, but he turned last night's show into one of the best of the season!
And I especially liked New Rules, too - everyone was at their best last night - except for Ben Shapiro.

(86,534 posts)I didn't know Malcolm Nance would be on, he was the perfect counter to the other guy. I have never seen or heard Mr. Shapiro before, yikes, he seems like he's severely wired n something, holy cow. And what a shame he's so lost in his psychosis.
Rhiannon12866
(205,173 posts)But they put the perfect foil up against him - I would always bet on Malcolm Nance to win any battle of knowledge or wits. And he's been on several times before, too - so Bill had to know that would happen.

(205,173 posts)I know that some were hesitant to watch with Ben Shapiro as a guest this week, but Malcolm Nance sure made it worth watching!

(205,173 posts)The second panel guest was originally supposed to be Tavis Smiley - but he was replaced at the last minute with Malcolm Nance and that turned the whole show around! They had to know what would happen and so did the rest of us, Ben Shapiro didn't stand a chance!

(205,173 posts)He has to know they're not popular with his audience - in fact he said as much last night. Maybe he likes to argue or likes the idea of winning an argument with them, but the time he had Geraldo on has to have convinced him he'll never turn them around. But it did work out very well this time, thanks to the wit and wisdom of Malcolm Nance. He was just excellent and turned the show into one of the best of the season. And Bill's New Rules was one of his best, too.

(11,986 posts)I thought it was terrible. For all the compliments Nance is getting here, he seemed more about trying to score points than have a real discussion. He starts by agreeing with how Shapiro described CRT, but then goes off on various tangents, rarely saying anything further about CRT per se or on exactly where he part ways with Shapiro on the topic. By the end, I thnk Maher was rightly exasperated at how it had gone.
